Vicks Vaporub Testimonials

This site is terrific. My insurance company would not pay for Lamisil, and my pharmacist said nothing else works "save your money" With that in mind, I found your site, and said "what the heck, I'll give it a go" and tried the Vicks vapor rub. Actually I went one step further and bought a Dollar Store version of Vicks, and nightly swathed up my big toe with a heaping helping of Vicks, and covered it with a Band-Aid. Within days the results were remarkable, there is an ever decreasing line of infected toenail, as the healthy tissue recovers. Amazing, and all for less than $2.00 including band!!!

George,
I read about this therapy years ago.
I clipped almost all of my big toe toenails completely off and have been applying Vics-vapo religiously for at least two years.
No luck at all.
I am going to try another home remedy.
We'll see
take care

A friend of mine had sent me a e-mail of home cures. One of them was Vicks Vaporub for nail fungus. That night I grab the Vicks and put it on my nail. I did that for weeks. I started seeing that it was working. I cured the fungus. But put Vicks on for a few weeks after the sign of the fungus has gone away. If just a small amount of fungus is still there it will come back. At least mine did. This HOME CURE really works.

Along with soaks in salt water, vinegar and applications of Vicks, I've been putting my feet under a sun lamp for a 5 to 15 minutes a day for a couple days and that has seemed to speed up the healing process remarkably. My atheletes foot cleared up almost immediately.
Especially for people who have to wear shoes all day while they're trying to cure themselves. I had an old sun lamp bulb lying around but I'm sure you can still get them. I would advise being careful about the amount of exposure, not to being too close or staying too long under it. Also, protect your eyes.
Sunlight seems like an indispensible part of getting rid of fungus now that I've seen what it can do. Here's the site that reminded me that I'd been thinking about this for a long time.

The vaporub was not working for me. I'd tried it for about a year. So, I thought, "What's in vaporub?" Eucalyptus!!! So, I took Listerine (the brown not the blue) and twice a day I soaked my toe in it ... under nail, cuticle etc. Within a couple of months, the toenail had lifted and the fungus was gone. I had to cut away the dead toenail which left my nailbed exposed, so I just soaked it with Listerine, rubbed in the vaporub and put a bandaid (the flexible kind. It sticks better) on it. The fungus is gone and the nail has grown back just fine.

Hi - The only thing wrong with the vaporub treatment is that it soaks into your hosiery/socks. I do a lot of 'recycling' and that involves polishing and cleaning. For this I keep a box of surgical gloves on hand. I got the idea of clipping the fingers off one glove and using them over my infected toes AFTER applying the vaoporub. You can even wear hosiery and toeless shoes without having a greasy mess on the ends of your foot. This probably wouldn't be good for people who have diabetes or circulatory problems. I take them off at night, shower, and this gives a chance for my toes to breath. I have only been doing this for three weeks and can see good nail already. Hope this helps someone else.

George,
Hello! I have been trying to get rid of my toenail fungus for 8 years and I finally found the product that works: Vicks Vaporub. I just googled toenail fungus and Vicks because I wanted to see if others had experienced success with Vicks, and your site came up. I've also tried Fungi Cure and Tea Tree Oil. Fungi Cure did not work. Tea Tree Oil worked to eliminate about 90% of the fungus over the course of about 1 1/2 years, but I could not get rid of the last bit until I started using Vicks. With any method I found that you have to keep clipping away the dead portion of the nail so that the product can really get to where the fungus is growing. Also, Vicks did not turn my nails dark as it says it might on your website.
Thanks for sharing information.
Christine
